I have been working at Active Network full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Great Benefits and health conscious environment. Has boot camp style workout available during the day throughout week. Company continues to make money and the sales force is strong.

Cons

Unstable as of late at the top. Too large of company to be using Matrix system of management. Causes uncomfortable and inefficient communication and processes. Finance & Billing are dysfunctional at best and have caused major issues in a few of the verticals. Customer service is lacking. More emphasis on product over service.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Kill the matrix or balance it out. Focus on incredible customer service and solid product and quit acquiring companies. Fix the billing and AR issues at all levels.

I have been working at Active Network full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Workouts, great co workers, lots of activities and networking events, especially for women

    Cons

Communication from management at the mid level to staff, no clearly defined goals, constant change that often contradicts what was asked for prior which wastes time and effort.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Training for mid level managers and directors on communication and how to manage employees

I worked at Active Network full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It is a very casual work environment
    Cool activities outside of work
    Great people to work with.

    Cons

The folks that were brought in from Monster are terrible, inept, and clueless. They have little understanding of enterprise software, much less how to manage basic engineering teams. Product VP and Engineering VP are never on the same page. They manage by fear. No solid game plan for the future. No product vision or innovation. Turnover is extremely high. Lower end of the wage scale, they don't even give out stock options or RSU's. I would stay away.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring in a new President, VP of Architecture/Engineering and VP Products.
