I have been working at Active Network full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Great, flexible hours, very casual dress (more than shorts, t-shirt & sandals for the guys is a little overdressed), working with talented and intelligent people.

Cons

The management team widely derided internally as toxic to the company's long term prospects has just been promoted. Rumors abound of huge layoffs, and developers are openly discussing the job prospects they hope to interview for.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please take your golden parachutes and move on before you destroy the company.

I have been working at Active Network full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

you can look out the window and see the ocean. aside from that, there's really not any pros left. oh wait, bagels on friday (but i'm sure that will change shortly).

    Cons

RUN, do not walk away from this place! mandatory 10-hour work day. unrealistic deadlines. insufficient staff. no respect for the people doing the work. aside from that, it's a great place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

no need to give advice, they don't care. the post-acquisition ceo was the worst possible choice, and everyone in the company aside from him and his lackeys knows it.

I have been working at Active Network full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great focus on giving back to the community and challenging yourself both in work and physically with company races and events.

    Cons

ACTIVE has high turnover and with that, comes lots of regular change. Expectations change often so at times you are working towards a moving target.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop a vision based upon meaningful metrics, communicate that vision and allow some time to pass before making changes in focus or objectives.
