Pros

Really fun people work here. The environment used to be fun, unfortunately that is leaving quickly. You will still be able to make some really good friends.

Cons

Seemingly random and sweeping firings happen all the time. You must take an assessment test to even be considered, but no one knows how it is scored. HR people don't know how it works either so DON'T take their advice. Many good new hires turned away for 'failing' this test. I'm sure it will get Active into hot water soon. (504 anyone?)

You feel very disposable and it is hard if not impossible to 'climb the latter'. If they start talking of 'opportunities' just know that is a key word for going nowhere. The office is crowded with new hires, and is noisy. HR department is horrible and will not help you, as they only seem to care about recruiting and firing people.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop treating good hardworking people like children. Stop using vague business lingo. (Everyone hates that lingo BS.) Just tone down the corporate everything. Companies don't work like that anymore. There are many, MANY other places to work that are much more hospitable and offer a work/life/respect balance.

    Pros

None. Everyone has their head up their you know what. They don't care about the employees just the profit margin.

    Cons

No career growth. Politics. Cool kids club. Terrible recruiters. Stuck with archaic technology and utilities. Coffee sucks too. Don't be fooled.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Burn everything down and start from scratch.

    Pros

Employees are friendly and fair minded. The company has a decent business model. They will work with employees both professionally and personally if necessary.

    Cons

Retirement package is almost non existant and not competitive. Phasing out some jobs in the U.S. to send overseas. No opportunity for advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep jobs here in the U.S. Upgrade the retirement package. Need to do a better job of rewarding employees in profitable divisions and not justify denying bonuses or raises because other divisions that are struggling.
