Pros

The people are super bright and are motivated to continue learning and collaborate on gaining exposure to new technologies. Great training opportunity and strong name in the cloud space. Proud to say I work at Acumen Solutions.

Cons

You can't just fly under the radar if you want to move up. People that are well known and get their name out there do well. Come in, knock it out of the ball park, and you'll get noticed.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

More acknowledgement to internal teams as well as consulting side teams, especially for rewards at All Hands Meetings and internal communications.

I have been working at Acumen Solutions

    Pros

Work life balance - If you're good you will get noticed - Growth potential - Friendly people - Some good clients

    Cons

Overall quality of firm's consultants has decreased - Lack of true differentiation strategy - Changing corporate strategy that doesn't match the companies core competencies - Poor marketing strategy - Lack of a dedicated sales force or management involvement in account reviews.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on the core competencies of the firm. The same competencies that brought the firm from $1-50M in revenue. Salesforce is a good tool and its important to be thought leaders in the industry, but need to keep the eye on the prize. Structure will follow strategy, determine the best course of action and build a structure before you announce a strategy.

Make sure you are at the right time with the right project otherwise you are not going to grow at Acumen.

    I worked at Acumen Solutions

    Pros

    - Fantastic co workers; talented staff with diverse experience backgrounds
    - Ideal practices to work in and for Public Sector and Global Services
    - Folks from Public Sector and Global Services are very supportive of their employees in growth and learning opportunities
    - Last year it was a great place to be part of Communications and Media Practice working under graceful and supportive leadership

    Cons

    - work hard and expect to only get promoted if you are a "favorite" and your MD knows you by name
    - This Year stay away from Communications and Media Practice now (since past few months) - that's what my ex co workers are telling me due to a recent leadership change morale is down under
    - It is an act of god if one has any aspirations to move practices within Acumen Solutions (too much internal politics)
    - Sr Mgmt and HR disconnected with ground realities with employees
    - Company is not doing very good and there were some talks to do big layoffs

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please connect with employees to get real facts on ground realities. Be ready to make some hard decisions on your own direct reports if they are not doing the job and motivating their respective employees.
