Pros

There are some opportunities for advancement, but you either have to be a lifer or close to it. Since it's a global corporation, there is the potential for interesting work.

Cons

Anyone newer than 10 years is considered a 2nd classer. There are a lot of job squatters, eventually they get promoted to positions of importance, unfortunately.

Advice to Senior Management

Improve the senior mgmt in IT. Some directors are fair and wonderful to work with; some are incredibly vindictive and small. Someone with a 75% rate of employees transferring or leaving should not be promoted to "special projects."
