I have been working at Adelphi University

Pros

Large amount of days off + 5 additional days off during the holidays season.
Flexible work schedule
Free Tuition

Cons

Plenty of parking but shared with students

Cafeteria food is very expensive

Administration are mostly women, not at all diversified

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Integrating a corporate perspective would greatly improve the lack of leadership skills. Adelphi's business practices are light years behind.

From as little as, not having an employee lounge separate from students—to promoting unqualified employees (administration) without providing "mandatory" management classes.
It's unacceptable to have people in positions of leadership that cannot contribute in an effective or positive way. Being aloof is not beneficial to anyone.

Suggestions to Mgmt at Adelphii:
Try shadowing a large company known for high morale. Try shadowing a university with proven success with Alumni donations and high enrollment. Generating this type of combination brings excitement to the campus and enables your staff to be motivated. Through research, you will find there is much more you could be doing to facilitate the strategic direction of the university. Relying on your employees is not sufficient. Take some accountability and be a leader.

I have been working at Adelphi University as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Professors and staffs are very very nice. I must say, especially those who are in the school leadership initiative called "The Levermore Global Scholar"

    Cons

It doesn't have much reputation & the student body is kinda lazy

    I worked at Adelphi University

    Pros

pretty campus. easy academics. commuter school. easy to walk around campus. nice people. young faculty. nice location. great security department.

    Cons

athletics are subpar, no parking, no respect of students to faculty, spoiled students who don't appreciate anyone, compensation is not equivalent to work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

more strict code for the athletic dept between coaches and athletes, the extra 7 required hours outside of class is unnecessary and annoying, healthier options for food on campus.
