I have been working at Adobe

Pros

Collaborative, supportive co-workers, the opportunity to work on market-leading products, flexibility on time/working from home.

Cons

Constant reorganization churn, way too many middle managers, poor opportunities for advancement, overwhelming workload. Focus is on management the company for the street, as a result, the focus on product innovation and quality is suffering.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop rewarding the ability to "manage up."

A sweatshop, terrible leadership, lack of action.

I have been working at Adobe

    Pros

    Great benefit package
Good food in the 610 Townsend building.
A solid name on your resume that does produce kick-ass products.
Tons of training opportunities (if you can get to any of them).

    Cons

Adobe Digital employees in San Francisco are leaving en masse, the group has turned over nearly 80% of its staff in the last year. Why? They are...

    - Overworked
    - Underpaid
    - Under-appreciated
    - Given no clear delineation of responsibilities, (ie. everyone does everything and yet is paid vastly different amounts)
    - Career growth limited/unclear
    - Managed by leaders who are un-supportive of you getting the training you need to become a more capable resource, yet are happy to work you to the bone by giving you client after client to "save" from not renewing.

The Adobe Digital team is a sad example of what poor leadership in a team can do a group in Adobe. The team is worked to the bone by managers who over promise to clients on what their team can do and a salesforce that lies out of its teeth to sell a "agency" of online experts, most of whom are becoming associates with little, if any, online marketing experience.

The only saving grace to this team is the strong group of developers who support it out of the Dallas office. If you can get in there count your graces, otherwise avoid Adobe Digital at all costs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get rid of ineffective managers.
Promote from within. RETAIN YOUR PEOPLE.
Pay your hard working employees in Adobe Digital fairly.
Take action to stop high rates of turnover.
