I worked at Adobe full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, smart co-workers, interesting industries serviced, dynamic workplace with some impressive office spaces, great suite of products on both the Marketing and Creative sides; established software powerhouse with great brand affinity

    Cons

Typical big-company bureaucracy, senior management just pays lip service to employee feedback. Company has grown quickly through acquisition and doesn't seem to know how to assemble the puzzle pieces quickly enough to meet customer demand. Lots of effort around offshoring has many concerned about their long-term job security

    Advice to Management

Remember Chuck and John's credo about where good ideas come from. Hold off on buying any more companies without a good strategy to integrate them. Be honest and open with your employees about their future prospects to ensure people are bought in and focused. Generally communicate more frequently and broadly to share the vision as the company transforms its model.

I have been working at Adobe full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Adobe has great benefits and take excellent care of its employees. They have a flexible work-from-home schedule, that enables employees to spend more time around their families. It's a fun place to work with fun & hardworking people.

    Cons

Adobe probably isn't the best company to work for if you are an entry-level or young person, looking to climb the corporate ladder and improve your job title. Although there is movement up and around the company, for the most part, people tend to settle into their roles. It will take years to achieve the same level of promotion at another smaller, tech firm.

    Advice to Management

Adobe has a long way to go in recruiting the best & brightest graduates from top universities. Adobe would be wise to develop a rotational or training program to bring more graduates into Adobe and help them carve out a space for themselves within the company.
