I have been working at Advance Auto Parts full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

They have good health benefits , BCBS. Most stores have a feeling of family and comraderie that make it a great place to be.

Cons

Too many things are "important" and have to be done, to the point that you hardly have time to take care of our customers. We need to dial back on some of the initiatives or the processes that go with them.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Come spend some time in the stores and see what its really like. Work side by side with the team for a week or two and then look our pocesses and see what needs your attention the most.

    I worked at Advance Auto Parts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    I enjoyed the variety of customers that always came in. You meet so many new people and you make great connections with commercial customers and the staff of the store. Benefits are cool and not to mention the discount.

    Cons

    The discount is very strict and can only be used by immediate household. So no helping that buddy who has always helped you. You can get fired for trying to help customers who can't afford total cost of the parts or the labor to get them installed

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be more lienient with team members and make sure that the GM in the store is properly trained and focused on the business.

    I have been working at Advance Auto Parts part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Good benefits, okay pay, incentives to sell but not competitive as in a commission type job. Work isn't terribly labor intensive, and with automotive knowledge, helping customers is a breeze. There's plenty of tools and machinery to perform tasks needed all around the store. They allow you to go above and beyond helping a customer with their vehicle if you feel comfortable and confident doing so. Multi-tasking abilities are a must. Answering phone calls and helping customers while making sure deliveries (if you're also a driver) are being made accurately and on time all at once is something that happens commonly.

    Cons

    Pay could be better especially for knowledge required to work there.

    Keep doing what you're doing. Be understanding that some days, goals just aren't' gonna be met.
