Pros

Decent place to work
Good associates
Fun customers
Adequate pay

Cons

Upper management had a fixation on the "fix of the year."
District Managers varied from uber-competent to not remotely competent
Seemed to be no promotion from within past the general manager level
Favoritism was a huge issue

Advice to Management

1. Develop some objective standards, and stop acting as if all problems are fixed by your single solution
2. Insisting general managers are in charge while micromanaging them is not coherent.
3. Focus on the business of serving customers, not the business of serving corporate egos.

    Pros

Good benefits, career opportunities and career growth. Nice clean, modern stores. Excellent opportunity to interact with customers.

    Cons

General Managers are more micromanaged now than in years past. General Managers now have a set schedule and must get DM approval for exceptions. Example if a General Manager wants to open on Friday instead of closing approval of the District Manager is required. That wasn't required in the past.

    Advice to Management

Remember "the best part is our people". Let the General Managers have the flexibility needed to run the stores.

    Pros

Co-workers are good to work with.
    20% discount.

    Cons

Poor Pay, Goals are not realistic, No commission so have no real point to hit goals other than getting fired(not a good job so can be easily replaced). Customers are clueless and not grateful, Company does not like to move people up.

    Advice to Management

Let the store managers be managers. They have to deal with the DL way to much. Have more employees so the stores can be ran the right way. Make people want to stick around rather than just stick around till something better shows up.
