Pros

Flexible, part time position, simple, no stress. You acquire a following. People look forward to seeing you and who doesn't like free samples?

Cons

No opportunity to move up if you have taken on the role of Sales Specialist or Event Demonstrator. It is a part time position that is generally Thursday thru Sunday. You will be working weekend events.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some of your best feedback comes from your demonstrators. This information should be communicated to the manufacturers of the products we are demonstrating more thoroughly. One survey form does not fit all products. Survey questions should apply directly to the product being demonstrated. Actually handling and viewing the product yourself may give you insight as to what questions should be asked regarding the customer feedback.

    Pros

    even during economic times, Advantage is doing well. The company is growing rapidly.

    Cons

    With fast growth comes problems. Not all treated fairly with salaries.

    review positions and salaries; think more about life balance and the expectations to be on call 24/7

    I have been working at Advantage Sales and Marketing

    Pros

    The hours can be extremely flexible. It's a great "second" job to have. There are wellness benefits offered that other companies do not extend to their employees. I must say that if you do need time away for emergency or illness the company is usually accommodating. Paid holidays are also very much appreciated.

    Cons

    There is little hope of "moving up the ladder." Associates work for years w/out pay increases to even attempt to compensate for cost of living increases. Constant fear of being laid off.

    It's nice to hear job well done, but additional compensation to back it up would be even better.
