I have been working at Advantage Sales and Marketing part-time for less than a year

Pros

Very flexible in terms of hours, if you're a student this is a GREAT part-time job.
Schedule is out two weeks in advance so you can plan your week around it very easily.

Cons

Managers are hard to reach if your have a question. Most of the time you have to figure out what you're doing on your own.

I worked at Advantage Sales and Marketing full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Always changing, new promotions, SOME supervisors are good, most people at your level are very good people. Lots of training materials available - self taught... Very little supervision, able to work independently mostly..

    Cons

Lower than average pay rate per hour, difficult and unfair mileage reimbursements, strick and often unavailable tools due to your position... very little hope of raises or ability to move upward due to environment and hostilities. beneifits are low to average.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Empower your RSM's, field reps, etc... at least yearly reviews with cost of living increase, restructure expense and car expenses mile reimbursments to FAIRLY compensate for wear and tear and ACTUAL miles (not your "made up/make believe" miles)

Don't be fooled by the sudden rash of positive reviews. Most are by demo people who have the least amount of stress.

I have been working at Advantage Sales and Marketing full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

You meet a lot of people, many of which will become friends over time. You are somewhat flexible in your daily activities but fully understand you are being tracked by GPS every minute of every day. Take 20 minutes too long getting from point A to point B? Then be prepared to explain why.

    Cons

Absolutely horrible pay rate when uncompensated expenses are added to the mix. Car program is the worst out there. Plan on buying a new car every few years if you have a retail route.Plan on ZERO raises for your entire length of employment. You CAN move up, but then plan on giving about 60 hours (minimum) of your life EVERY week for a few extra thousand dollars a year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just go ahead and make everybody part time. It's pretty obvious to anyone who has worked for Advantage for any length of time to figure out that's your next logical step in eliminating all benefits. You've drastically lowered the pay scale, eliminated all but the minimum expense towards car wear and tear, and refuse to give even the smallest cost of living increases to your employees. Nice way to show a profit...by taking millions away from good employees.
