The company is more concerned with making money than taking care of their residents or employees.

Pros

If you know how to kiss behind, you can move up quickly in the company. Fellow co-workers are great to work with.

Cons

Low pay for the area. They pick their favorites and let them move up into positions they are not qualified for. They cut raises to say money, but let administration take 3 paid vacations. Administration doesn't care about you or your life. And that lack of caring carries over to the residents.

    Pros

Spiritual based organization, employees seem to generally care about one another.

    Cons

PDO (paid time off) is virtually nonexistent, no holiday pay - that is part of the "overall" PDO bank which is inadequate as it is, benefits are extremely poor especially the health insurance, if you ask a question of HR they will give you a pat answer or no answer at all, advancement seems to be only for those who are either a) part of the Adventist faith or b) a family member of a big shot, raises are almost nonexistent.

    Advice to Management

Value employees more in actions instead of words (i.e. better benefits, better pay) it's not enough to just be told you're appreciated. Show it!!

    Pros

Pay is relatively good for the area. Some of the employees are good at what they do. Enjoyable patient population. Scenic area.

    Cons

I've never worked for a more dysfunctional organization. The management is completely unresponsive, and many employees gossip and complain incessantly. It's a terrible work environment.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees and hold people accountable. Change management and change culture. Otherwise, the other hospital in town will be the only one standing.
