I worked at Adventist Health System full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

At AHS Corporate and the Information Technology, you work in an air conditioned building

    Cons

    1. All large number of unhappy folks; The happy people are management and the Kool-Aid drinkers.

    2. The some of the biggest factors that determine your promotion prospects are:

         a. you either in a clique or you not; share cooking recipes with the old ladies that run
the place and you got a better shot at succeeding vs. having good
             good job qualifications.
b .you have relative or friends on the "inside"
         c. If you are "discovered" by chance by a hiring manager (you win a beauty contest);
a less qualified candidates have been chosen over more qualified candidates
         d. forget about being judged on quantitative or qualitative data based on your work

    3. They use Jesus the same way Disney use Mick Mouse; you're surrounded by biblical
quotes and the trappings of Christianity, but the bottom line is the greed in the
hearts of management, money trumps Jesus every time.

    4. In some departments, you can be written up and put on probation, making you ineligible for
promotion, or you can summarily terminated for having a 3% probability of being late or
absent on any given day. There was a instance where a employee was
written up because they had to be taken by EMTs on a stretcher to a hospital from
the workplace due to a possible serious medical condition. That person was written
up because that incident put her over her limit for absences and tardies. She was
written up because she went over the 3%. She was later told that she shouldn't have
put her self in that position.

5.The Human Resource group is useless and rude. The only interaction you will get is
on hiring day. Other than that it's mostly cheer leading and covering covering
        management's butt.

    6. Never met or saw Senior Management in three years

I worked at Adventist Health System as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Nice people, however beyond that there wasn't much to go on there. The free coffee was really nice.

    Cons

The summer internship amounted to nothing. It was unorganized and they lacked communication. The quarters they gave us to stay in were moldy and unsafe.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be nicer to interns.

    No opinion of CEO
