I have been working at Advisor Software

Pros

Some very brilliant people to work with. Relaxed atmosphere. Small work groups enable a lot of responsibility. Significant exposure to senior managment.

Cons

Lack of resources make some tasks inefficient. Work across functionality group is strained at times due to time constraints. Frequently shifting corporate strategy leads to loss of focus.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Produce guidelines for company to adhere to in terms of services offered, product development decisions, reposnse to requests, etc...Vision, and mission should guide all decisions.

I have been working at Advisor Software full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    * Big investment the past months to expand the cloud applications and open APIs, which is refreshing so that customers can consume the data from the APIs to maintain innovation and UI/UX, or use the full apps
    * Company hired strong execs from Silicon Valley/SF in Q4 to drive the above
    * HQ in SF Bay Area
    * Many of the core people having been here for many years
    * CEO/Founder is driving the new innovation and regularly meets with customers globally
    * While the company runs like a startup it has many large and long-time customers

    Cons

    * The normal things at small growing companies: being a jack-of-all-trades at times, working extra in crunch periods, significant travel to meet with customers globally, high expectations to deliver your work, change
    * For those who prefer a home-office, the company likes to have people at HQ most of the time
    * Don't expect all the amenities of the big names in Silicon Valley

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to push the innovation, need to ride the wave of technology disruption occurring in the FinServ/Wealth Mgmt industry which is benefiting investors. Focus on hiring the right people to drive the growth.

I have been working at Advisor Software (more than a year)

    Pros

There are some really smart people who worked at ASI. Work life balance is good. Nice, friendly people

    Cons

Slow to adapt to new technologies, things are done in ways that aren't necessarily efficient (but could have been). A lot is done to meet deadlines and without much care for infrastructure

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

ASI is a software company, so invest in software infrastructure and the maintenance of software infrastructure

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
