Pros

Few. Enjoyed most co-workers and a feeling of comaraderie among all. Unreasonable demands and incompetent management will bring employees together in a shared dislike and distrust.

Cons

Where to start!! Compensation at the facility below the industry ( and corporate) average. Unreasonable and unrealistic productivity demands increase the level of stress and diminish the quality of the care clients receive. Poor and incompetent local management does little to inspire employees. PTO is horribly managed; discipline is arbitrary and inconsistently applied. Management will occasionally suggest (request?) shortcuts in order to pump up the productivity numbers. At the management level, ethical behaviors are an option, not an expecatation. Inevitably, this begins to trickle down to the therapists eveident in incomplete, inaccurate or even falsified documentation. Due to singular emphasis on productivity and profit, local and regional management will press therapists to stretch ethical boundaries and standards but then leave you to hang on your own when challenged. Negativity abounds in this company and employee morale is incredibly poor. Absolutely thrilled to be gone - any job that drives you to tears on a daily basis is not worth keeping. Company needs a complete overhaul.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is no advice I can give that will help this company, as it is, improve. Basically, this company needs to clean house. Either that or decide what type of business you want to be. Will you be a company that puts client care first or a company that puts profit first. As is, profit comes first and patient quality care is a distant (very distant) second.

    Pros

Relationships formed with residents . I am finding it difficult to come up with any pros. PT/OT/SLP month was not even acknowledged except for an e-mail sent from someone no one ever talks too.

    Cons

All about money and reaching an unobtainable productivity. Apparently HIPA looks good on paper but therapists are required to clock the minutes as pt treatment while waiting for elevators , medications or other issues in sub acute and LTC facilities. Time off is granted if coverage can be found but if it can't middle management with credentials don't step up to the plate to help. Full time isn't really full time-it's more hours or less hours per dept need which will effect earning vacation time , health insurance ect. The people part of therapy has been removed from the equation and its more important to have a warm body to cover treatments than a good therapist. Policies are constantly changing to meet company needs and no time is allotted for new learning or dealing with everyday issues of a therapist working in LTC. NEW GRADS BEWARE. There is no room for mentoring , meeting with supervising therapists or learning new techniques because every one is stressed to the max. Right hand does not know what left hand is doing and when calling management for questions or assistance .......no one calls back or calls back days later. OOPs Sorry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stand behind and respect your staff. Don't continue to force therapists into compromising the integrity of their professions and / or requiring them to treat patients who they feel are not appropriate just to "meet rug levels"
