I have been working at Aera Energy

    Pros

Processes can be good for learning and avoiding 'repeat' mistakes

    Cons

Being too process oriented suffocates innovation and can lead to inability for attaining long-term viability

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Process should NOT come before Function - process should SUPPORT function. A process that is built without accounting for function FIRST is doomed to failure as no process is perfect. All processes (if desiring long term viability) MUST be an animal that is capable of EVOLVING. The only way a process can actually evolve is by acknowlegement that it is supported FIRST by function/design.

    I worked at Aera Energy

    Pros

Competitive compensation package, good benefits, flexible schedule, 9/80 work weeks, lots of internal training opportunities, very process driven company,

    Cons

Very little opportunity for new engineers to be mentored, operations management was clueless on day to day activity, intergrated teams did not work together well but rather seemed to have an every man for himself mentality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Aera Energy has the potential to be a great company to work for if the right leadership is in place. The Bakersfield office has a completely different feel than the field offices, and this is unfortunate, because the Bakersfield office is a well run machine.
