Pros

Coworkers are young so you can easily relate to your coworkers. Can be yourself at work. Company outings. Chance to network. Great training. Little to no micromanaging (really depends on the account manager you're under).

Cons

NO work life balance. Underpaid for the amount of work done. Have to interview for EVERY SINGLE POSITION you apply for within the company. Plenty of offices nationwide, but if you want to transfer you have to interview for the same position you are already in. If they find out you're looking for work you will be fired. Non compete has to be signed before starting work. 50 + hour work week at least (salaried, so no overtime). Takes forever to receive commission status. VERY stressful most of the time. The don't really hire older people (older to this company is 26 and up). They prefer recent college graduates. Feels like a cult. Recruiter workload is very heavy with an insane to do list, so it's impossible to do everything they ask AND provide great customer service at the same time. Your success will be determined by the division you are in and the number of recruiters in that division. This job/company will come before everything in your life to be successful there.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Higher base salaries for recruiters. Actually train the Account Managers to be managers, because many of them have no idea how to supervise. Don't avoid seasoned candidates just because you want to start everyone off at $33,000/yr. Stop aiming for a "young office only" attitude and find some good recruiters that have previous experience. Stop releasing so many initiatives all at once so we can remember at least one of them and how they could benefit us.

    Pros

Okay in replying to your request while employeed/on assignment with them.

    Cons

Not great in communicating when your assignment ended. Got the call that assignment ended on a Sunday night at 10:30 PM, the night before heading back to the office Monday morning. Given a great review over a phone message - but hard to get the recruiting manager on the phone in the weeks after to work on another assignment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Better communication from Recruiters.

  2. A place for people who didn't do well in school but don't mind working like a dog.

    Pros

Young coworkers. Experience that other companies will value when you want to leave and start interviewing elsewhere.

    Cons

Long-hours. 7:30 am - 6 pm is expected. If there is a project, you can expect to stay past 9 pm. Managers and directors always upset with recruiters for not hitting goals due to outside factors that recruiters have no control over. Work like a dog, barely get paid. The amount of work you put in does not translate to dollars in your pocket. The commission structure does not pay out what they market. I've seen managers develop a territory only to have it taken away and handed to someone who was recently promoted. That manager and their family suddenly has to figure out how to live on much less since they lost the commission on that territory and are knocked back down to base. Managers routinely brag about drunken nights and doing poorly in school. Company does not value intelligence. Most valuable employees are ones who can be run over day after day and still come to work with a smile on their face. They've implemented a Diversity Initiative Committee which is routinely joked about at work. It's a good old boys club environment and if you're not a white male that didn't do well in school, you won't fit in. They'll accept women...if they act like white males.
