I worked at Aerotek as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

You can get placed at a job quickly although it will not be the wage your looking for and or deserve

    Cons

i was contracted at $2per/hr less than originally agreed as a forklift operator/picker.was promised perm. position after working 480hrs. i worked 820 hours total over the span of 3months and 3 weeks before being fired the day after christmas.every time i asked about being hired on i was told "the paperwork" is being drawn up or "processed" i was working 65-72 hrs per week sometimes 7 days a week to please management so as i could be hired. This is now the 3rd temp/staffing agency I've been at over the past 4 years, each and everyone promised they weren't like the last and that they don't "use and lose" their workers once your contract expires. i never called out,was late,no disciplinary problems, yet i was fired.even after i worked 340 hours more than the required hours for hire in the contract. 2 of my friends also had the same experiences with this company as i did. Beware

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop treating us temps like disposable gloves, using us until our contracts end or near ending and then have fire us. Companies contracting through you should Not be able to let us go for any reason. we should not have to sign agreeing to allow the contacting company to fire us at will without a criminal/negligent/disciplinary reason. Treat us as they treat their full time employees where the have to be warned verbally, then written up,suspended anything would be better than going home everyday and thinking "oh no, i forgot to smile when the boss walked by am i going to have a job tommorow morning or will i get the agencys call saying the company has "released me from our contract".
