Aetna – “A very good but not the greatest place to work.”
Pros
Good training resources available if you are self motivated to make use of all that is available.
Better than average benefit package; includes both 401(k) AND a pension plan.
Good place to learn about the healthcare industry.
Cons
Some areas have long work hours and this is all through the year.
Take home salary is above average, though some benefits like pension, tuition assistance and health care contributions make up a good chunk of the overall benefit package.
Advice to Senior Management
Rewards and recognition could be better. Speed to market could use improvement; it takes forever at Aetna to get changes implemented.
