Pros

- Fairly good benefits - Healthy worklife balance, family atmosphere - Pay was good, but I was new college hire and I was in sales so it may not be representative

Cons

- Insurance plan was worse than what I sold to most clients surprisingly - No real growth at that time, though Affordable Care Act may change that

    Pros

Process Improvement is entertained Aware of Silos and begining to address those limitations Competitive compensation Diversity in managment Work from home a possibility in many positions

    Cons

The same challenges found in any large company, the message from the top is diluted by the time it reaches the front line. Job Eliminations are handled by HR and the criteria is not available to the terminated employee-transparency has not been applied to this process.

    Advice to Management

As the merger requires staff reductions, publish the severance packages for employees in good standing by salary level and time with the company. Share the re-hire time frames for those who accept a package. Allow people to fully understand that business needs will impact them, let them make informed decisions and feel that they have options. Many Aetna employees have never experienced a merger or a lay off. We should not have to fear, and our management should not be blind sided by, the current Job Elimination process.
