I worked at Aetna full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Ability to work from home, good salary and eligible for bonuses.

Cons

No employee loyalty when downsizing staff - was laid off when the economy tanked in 2010. Replaced with contractual employees that we were told would only stay if they received a certain contract - which they did not.

Advice to Management

Full time regular employees are worth more than contractual employees who are just hired.

I have been working at Aetna full-time

    Pros

Work At Home Opportunities to do different work if you work towards it 401k matched 6%

    Cons

Lack of serious training Benefits are consistently diminished each year Bonus is not reliable True promotion from within rarely occurs Downsizing every single year Stress from a highly regulated industry with huge IT demands and little IT budget. Reorganizes major departments nearly every season. Changes people's positions with little consideration of the employee. No one knows who does what, and no one feels committed to their jobs.

    Advice to Management

Add some benefits that never existed. Enforce training as necessary Try to stop reorganizing, most of the time that reorganizing only looks good on paper but is detrimental to completing the work.
