Work at home
Sincere and helpful project manager
Cons
Not sure who is at fault. Was hired originally project based non-exempt but offer letter read and I was told that on or before my sixth month anniversary I had to be either hired or let go in accordance with ACS policy. Neither happened at six months. Instead I was encouraged to stay, work full time hours (was only 20 or 24 hrs a week at the time), leave another career behind and to just trust and believe the paper work would take some time to get me on as an FTE. I did so, loved my job. Attended all meetings just like any other employee, worked odd hours, did everything I was asked to do. Had a wonderful performance appraisal and after 1.5 years in total and not even 30 days after my appraisal i was let go as part of the "reduction in force initiative", Not only was that awful enough, the used my status as a project-based to deny me the program benefits everyone else was getting with included a six week supplemental pay. HR said "your project simply ended". NO my project was not ended, there is plenty of work to be done. My manager told me directly that he was told to remove so many and I was on that list. The IT Manager that hired me and would have been the one delivery the news to me was let go the day before I was to be let go. In total he was advising 3 people that they lost their jobs. So they removed him the day before and we had to be called in one by one and spoken with by someone we had little to nothing to do with on a day to day basis. I was told "sorry for your hardship"... Sorry for my hardship? They have no idea how they have affected my life and the life of my family. Let's go ahead and continue to give ACS government contracts so they could use people and then discard them? Something is wrong here.
Advice to Senior Management
Advise to Lynn Blodgett. You are a man who professes to care about the homeless in our country. Don't allow your HR is used loopholes to hurt people any longer. Step up and realize that your company is contributing to this problem. You can't tell a person on a Friday that this is their last day. Primary earner or not... do you understand what that means? Not everyone has savings, not everyone has credit limits to use.... Oh My God - Please stop your people from hurting others. I can't answer the next question as to if I agree to don't agree how you are running your company because I refuse to believe you know this is going on.... I can't believe you know.
