Current Employee - Corporate Recruiting/Human Resources Intern in Rockville, MD

I have been working at Aflac as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Great internship experience. Younger environment where every one really wants to help you succeed and learn how to be self motivated.

    Cons

Have to compete with many other AFLACS in the area. Better organization needed so recruiter or sales calls aren't aimed at the same individual from multiple offices in one day.

Former Employee - Independent Insurance Agent in San Diego, CA

I worked at Aflac full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Easy money........ IF you have contacts in benefits sales i.e. a solid brokerage or a CPA. Great company to get your career going in employee benefits.

Do it if you own a payroll company, married to a CPA or just related to one.

    Cons

It will end up costing you money. Servicing will become demanding. You will have to expand your products to include all programs under benefits i.e. health insurance, workers comp etc. At the end of the day, its a payroll company product.

There is a bit of politics with the so called management. They don't understand how some agents have key contacts. They basically will use you to win your contacts in the short run.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None, they know what they are doing. They basically have good sales people that will drop out, and they will keep the accounts and sell off to Districts etc.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
