4 of 4 people found this helpfulPros
Brand recognition, marketshare, claims payment ratios.
Cons
Aflac Veteran of over 10 years. Have held several positions starting with Associate. Major management and strategy changes in 2009 and projected for 2010 have and will continue to cause serious challenges to Brand and therefore sales.
Oversaturation in recruiting new agents has finally become the primary negative to group account prospects. Aflac has addressed this over the last 10 years as a constant in the marketplace, however the issue of excessive contact of prospects by an overly agressive field force has become a very bad and seemingly permanent perception amongst Aflac targeted companies. It has become the primary reason companies who do not offer Aflac WILL NOT OFFER AFLAC.
Internal changes by Aflac Headquarters scheduled for 2010 limiting access to larger companies unless through the new Aflac Broker V.P.'s will kill your ability to "elephant hunt". If that is your goal, do not interview with this company. It will not happen.
These changes are the result of changes in Senior level management, and in State office management throughout the company. In addition, various executives and State Sales managers have either pled guilty to tax fraud or are under current investigation by I.R.S. and various State departments of insurance.
Advice to Senior Management
Prediction - Aflac will lose marketshare in 2010, and hopefully that will become the wake up call to look at how poorly your choices in State Sales management has become
