I have been working at Aflac

Pros

Great atmosphere, high salary, great management, they provide you with top notch training and mentoring and give you all necessary materials

Cons

Need to be a hard worker, the sales do not come to you. You have to be confident and aggressive.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work, Aflac is a great company and the people that run it make it that way.

I have been working at Aflac

    Pros

Aflac pays claims, so you can believe in the product you sell. Aflac pays 63% commissions upfront. The products are strong and often sell themselves. Excellent name recognition with the duck. Excellent marketing department.

    Cons

100% commission, no base salary. Very difficult to "get going". Almost impossible to survive the first year unless you have money saved. No benefits, no group rates on insurance either.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The business is cut throat in my opinion. Everyone is driven by money and sales. It is every man for himself.

    Market Saturated

I have been working at Aflac

    Pros

Work can be flexible to accomodate your personal schedule.

    Cons

Poor training, turnover is insane, market saturated due to low hiring standards which in turn had lead to unprofessional appearance and field representation. In-company communication regarding current client base is non-existent which results in repeated solicitation of companies that already offer Aflac... makes Aflac appear incredibly incompentent. Unless a new agent comes into the company with a list of best buddies who own businesses and are willing to offer Aflac, they'll never be able to afford to ride out that initial start up period.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be legit when explaining commission structure and realistic expectations. Stop being so blinded by recruiting #'s and "new groups" and provide incentive to service existing accounts. Develop a system to help new associates survive while they get their business up and running.
