I have been working at Agilex Technologies full-time (more than an year)

Pros

People are open to change and new ideas. Hard work is rewarded. Definitely one of the better-run contracting shops.

Cons

Company is well run financially but it makes you feel like a peon (it's hard to feel employee appreciation). Environment can be stressful at times.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Growing too fast (too many open reqs to fill in a short period of time). Culture is changing.

    Pros

They are trying to work with latest technologies. It is not hard to get in. Location is good for north Virginians.

    Cons

    1. Weird company organization: 4 sectors that are basically 4 separate companies. It is not easy to move from sector to sector. It is almost like changing job.
    2. Easy to get in but hard to stay.
    3. Once you are in you are just a resource that gets moved around if you like it or not.
    4. Lots of contradictory actions and messages: company is in constant need of people, employees are asked to bring good people in but in the same time current employees are being let go easily instead of just transferring projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is no need to lay off people from project that has lost funding before you start to look for new projects for them inside the company. It could be better and less stressful transferring process.

    Pros

Great exposure to advanced technology, great opportunity to work on large-scale complex projects, knowledgeable co-workers, great HR staff

    Cons

Not enough transparency in decision making process, heavy dependence on government projects which is dangerous in the time of budget cuts, health insurance premiums payable by employees is too high

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need greater diversification of revenue sources across government contracts and private companies to balance out risk when governmental budgets are cut
