Pros

Compensation package (base, bonus, equity, and company car) is very rich and above market, but it comes at a price.

Cons

Very difficult to get decisions made. Organization changes constantly and never allows enough time for the changes to yield benefits.

    Pros

    great experience in the food retail industry. you can pretty much go work anywhere with the AUSA name on your resume.

    Cons

    office culture, minimal recognition for hard work, work life balance, co workers will stab you in the back to get ahead.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    don't forget about the people in the lower ranks who actually get the job done everyday. management loves to talk the talk, but they don't walk the walk.

    I have been working at Ahold USA full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Decent pay for managers.
    Work with a lot of good people
    Flexible for part timers

    Cons

    Unrealistic demands.
    Constant philosophical changes
    CEO turnover every 3 years, than more changes
    A holding company only looking for bottom line results. Employees are just cogs in the wheel.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Training is on the fly because of no payroll for it.
    Employee moral needs much improvement.
    Extra incentives that can excit.
