    Pros

Aimco is a professional organization with excellent growth opportunities. I was promoted several times over 7 years. My effort and dedication always seemed respected and appreciated. The professional friendships I developed continue today even though I have moved on.

    Cons

Excessive upper management changes, knew jerk reactions, less long term planning. It often felt that the fire drills were self-inflected and that I spent excessive time learning and executing “new company policies” which were often revised. This added to the sometimes long days or after hour emails.

    Advice to Management

Set both long and short term goals with a clear and consistent path for accomplishment along with contingency plans just in case. Encourage personal industrialism not just adherence to procedures. Lighten up on the emails, conference calls, and meetings. Although communication is important, too much communication can be excessive, focus should continue to be on the big picture.
