Current Employee - Business Development Manager in London, England (UK)

I have been working at Air Culinaire full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Lots of travel involved, quite a good base salary. Varied workload giving a very strong grounding to build on. Lots of exposure to upper management

Cons

Potentially too much travel. Poor benefits and commission. Crossover between sales and operations is too close. Very focused in USA where company is based.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Expand management outside the USA, reward employees with a more generous commission structure.

I worked at Air Culinaire full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Laid back and very casual attitude, good benefits

    Cons

They need to hire more people and their training program leaves a lot to be desired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Needs to provide a more nurturing enviroment during training. trainers were very moody and short fused. A little patience goes a long way Also invest in more computers to train on.

    Pros

An interesting and profitable company--you never really think about where all of the food and liquor comes from on these private jets that fly these celebs/bands/sports teams/VIP'S/generally rich and famous people all over the world. Air Culinaire is the answer to that question that you never think about. It's a really interesting job. In Tampa there is a kitchen where the catering is prepared, and a big plus is that we were prepared a nice lunch every day, complete with a full salad bar.

    Cons

The hourly wage is horrible (for what you do and the stress you endure and the swirling vortex of moody personalities you tolerate). It is a sort of inbreeding result of Corporate and restaurant which results in some professional employees and some miserable and snarky personalities. The stress of the job would almost be endurable were it not for certain snarky personalities that were in high positions of power. The CEO, however, was awesome. The problem was that he was not involved in the daily functions and did not see what actually went on with the daily operations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand that yours is a Customer Service based industry, and either replace your GM and Trainer or have them take some sort of training that makes them exhibit at least some of the behaviors they are trying to encourage and train.
