Great People - Tough Work

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Air Liquide full-time for more than a year

ProsDedicated employees, great benefits, challenging work, fair.

ConsMore process oriented than results oriented; being headquartered in Paris adds to the bureaucracy; not very collaborative at the business unit level

Advice to Senior ManagementPerformance appraisal process is too long and cumbersome; no performance appraisal process should take 4 months to get through one cycle. Communications at the macro level are great, at the implementation level however, people are left to their own devices to figure things out because too little time and training are made available. Listen more and engage employees in solutions and decision making. Employee survey is a great effort, but managers are torn in so many directions they don't have time to do anything about what they hear. Management culture is old fashioned and top down. But the company is really trying to do the right thing and puts a lot of effort into it.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
