Current Employee - Specialty Gas Specialist in Royal Oak, MI

I have been working at Airgas full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

significant resources and longevity in the market; extensive knowledge base and experts to call in for help. Most people have a team mentality.

    Cons

Bureaucracy, inablity to blend acquisitions, uper management too far removed from the daily environment. Communication is atrocious. transparency needs work, mistakes that look like greed engender mistrust in the employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

work on forecasting the impact of decisions. The local feel has been lost. Talent is leaving quickly and the company will suffer for it.

Current Employee - Rescue Technician in Carson, CA

I have been working at Airgas part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Get rope rescue training. Many of the guys that work there are firefighters or have at least completed a fire academy so there is a degree of professionalism.

    Cons

The assignments are never set in stone. Most of the work is not local. End dates for projects change frequently.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership needs to be more well defined. Communication with customers and employees can be improved upon.

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
