I have been working at Airlines Reporting Corporation full-time for more than a year

Pros

Friendly atmosphere, good working environment, great benefits (although flying standby is not so appealing); lots of opportunity to learn and grow

Cons

Long term employees skeptical of change but that is to be expected

I have been working at Airlines Reporting Corporation

    Pros

    1. Great location: in the heart of Clarendon amidst some good restaurants and shopping.
    2. Good perks: unlimited vacation days, flexibility to telework, and standby-travel using passes.
    3. Employee Development: a good offering of trainings offered on-site for professional development.

    Cons

Too many to list, but a few major ones are:

    1. Chances of promotions and rising in the oganizational hierarchy are limited, and only possible if you are in cahoots with someone from senior management or agree to everything they say blindly. In a nutshell suck up to them. If not, you can forget about ever moving ahead in your career or a chance of any raise.

    2. They do have semi-annual and annual employee performance evaluations, but do forget about ever getting rated anything above 'Successsful', even if you burn the midnight oil and go that extra mile. Any rating higher than that means ARC has to either promote you or offer a raise, which they will never do unless you are a favorite of one of the senior managers.

    3. Almost all senior managers play favorites and will advance those individuals only who blindly listen to them and suck up to them, so be prepared.

    4. There is no structure and strategy in place, and hence as an employee be prepared to move departments and supervisors every 3-4 months.

    5. If you are one of those individuals who love to work hard and do not mind if your manager steals all the credit for your work and holds you responsible for the failure of his department's success, then congratulations...you've just landed in the right place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. Senior management, especially those at the C-level need to maake better hiring decisions and make that effort once in a while to talk to employees about their supervisors.

    2. If you have an employee performance andd eevaluation plan, take it seriously and act upon it honestly and dilligently.
