I have been working at Akima full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Salary, Benefits, Vacation, Flexible Schedule, Generous 401k matching, reasonable commute, reasonable accommodations, most of the co-workers are friendly, competent people.

    Cons

The site management team is not here to serve the AKIMA employee. If the client decides it is time for you to leave, even after 10+ years of service, you are asked to leave without ANY notice! Employees are placed in a position and then left to churn out work. There is no opportunity for growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You can never rise above the limitations of your character. Choose to be people with strong character as it is the foundation on which to build success.

I worked at Akima full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Had a good supervisor and managed to get promoted twice but couldn't move further up after that due to lack of opportunities. Had a good open door policy to talk to HR and upper management. Learned a lot of new systems and worked with a good team.

    Cons

No career development programs available to employees. Also, no tuition/education reimbursement programs available to employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your employees and they will stick around longer.
