Pros

Room for growth when you have good managers. This is a company that one could easily stay with for 10, 20+ years because of the many opportunities. Education allowance, excellent HR team make career paths easy to navigate. Flexible hours if you're in the right department and have a manager who subscribes to official corporate values. Defined benefit pension plan.

Cons

Salary is not competitive. Many managers are not forward-thinking, discourage innovative solutions, and want staff to minimize communication with other departments for fear of looking bad.

Advice to Management

Appreciate that cross-departmental learning is beneficial and that front-line staff are often better sources of accurate information than diluted messages communicated by management. Recognize that flexible work hours/locations are hugely important to many talented staff members who are trying to balance work/life.

    Advice to Management

    - Company is great to work for and have no real advice. Salary is a tough issue with a non for profit company competing against the oil and gas sector.
