I have been working at Allergan as a contractor for more than 3 years

    Pros

Allergan is a very stable company and treat contractors the same as employees if not better. Pay is very good, and management expect you to be professional, responsible and they do respect your feedback. As long as you are responsible for your work, do your job, your contract will be renewed and your efforts will be appreciated. Allergan does not have any drama with co-workers or work place chatter. Every department is pretty result driven and you don't have mass layoffs here.

    Cons

The campus in Irvine is huge, parking is a problem. Also you can't really expect to have many company socials. You will not really socialize at work. As a contractor you will do your job, you will go home. If you are looking for a "fun place" to work, Allergan is not the best place to work. You will not really be aware of whats going on company wide and everyone is pretty busy at Allergan. Career advancement or lateral moves aren't promoted throughout the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Send out more company wide announcements, have more company events so departments can interact and develop a culture at Allergan. Overall people are happy at Allergan because pay is great, company is strong, but Allergan does feel like its just a job and not like a family. I dont think workers are loyal to Allergan due to the culture but stay for the pay.
