    Pros

Free parking, nice workout room and cafeteria, decent 401(k) match.

    Cons

It's very difficult to tell why people are promoted here. It's often not the best people. It's sort of a crony culture where management gives itself as many perks/increased bonuses as possible, and employees try to "buy in" to the culture to get some of those perks. The company supposedly has had banner years the last two years, but many bonuses have gone down despite high individual employee rankings.

There are many non-working "managers" who spend most of their day micromanaging their reports. They are often pretty weak, so employees call it "playing house" with their manager.

    Weak senior management.

If you've done well at other companies because you do quality work and work hard, you may not want to go here, because that's not what is rewarded.

Get anything they promise you in an interview in writing if you can.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire a consultant, replace 70% of executive management, and try to set up a more productive growth culture.

Current Employee - IT Manager II  in  Golden Valley, MN
Current Employee - IT Manager II in Golden Valley, MN

    Pros

The facilities are fantastic, two Cafes, gym, courtyard, covered parking. Certainly no complaints about the physical environment.

    Cons

90% of IT is contracted, They bring you in with promise of all the fantastic perks once hired (yet the promise of hire is a carrot on a string, they say its just a few months more, but then keep moving the date out.... They tell you the only difference between FTE and contractors is the color of your badge. Well this is so far from the truth its sad. As a contractor, what you don't get is: respect, opportunity for "employee only functions", (there are a lot of these, you cant participate in events), you get stuck working late when everyone else gets to leave early, the "work" it self isn't tough, time off is usually not an option, especially if your contract doesnt include any pto, they make exceptions for FTE, but the same doesn't apply to the contractor, but as a contractor you do get the stuff no-one else wants to do.
You don't get any credit for a job well done, even when you get a fantastic email/review from a customer/co-worker about your above the call of duty work, you get zero praise from management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the time to get to know your employees, don't make open ended promises, overall contractors should NOT be made to feel like outsiders, If you need to have so many events make sure the contractors can be included, or don't constantly announce them. To upper management: be aware that you have a ton of discontent on the middle management, they constantly in-fight, many are on the verge of walking out the door at any minute. Lots of back stabbing, lots of talking behind the others backs in front of their direct reports.
