I have been working at Allied Telesis as a contractor (more than a year)

Pros

Flexible Schedule. Relax atmosphere. The majority of the employees are technical people. Collaboration is easier. Counterparts from NewZealand and Japan R&D centers are bunch of cool colleagues as well. Very helpful, accommodating and polite.

Cons

Salary structure followed hasn't change. HR benefits is status quo. Company Policies implemented hasn't change and kinda "old" way of doing things. Inputs gathered during exit interviews weren't studied and considered as part of continual improvement.

Tenure and performing employees weren't rewarded as to compare to newly hire engineers where they can bargain "higher" compensation during the hiring process which left the "old" employees accepts minimal increase.

Administration team should does thing all manually and extremely slow and missed most requests unprocessed.
Not so efficient.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change should come from the top. Self check.

Great in finding great opportunities to prove the team's existence

    Pros

Expenses covered, Educational reimbursement. Decent benefits.

    Cons

No raise, no bonuses, the management do not want to take responsibility for task they request from IT. Never a definite yes or no answer. No foresight. Very little communication from executives on what they exactly want and whether they approve of your performing the actual task that you had to guess from their words.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

executive management needs to step up and point out the direction of the IT roadmap. No more vague answers, please. IT do not drive the business. Executive do!
