I worked at AlliedBarton full-time for more than a year

Pros

A lot of overtime available. They have a lot of training available but the trick is staying there long enough to take advantage of it.

Cons

Its like 10 times worse then being on guard in the service. Where I worked you had to stand all of the time and stare at lockers with no one around and you were not allowed to have a cell phone or any kind of entertainment of any kind for like 9 to 18 hours. It was always an air of your job being on the line for the slightest infraction, there are no second chances. The company sucks don't waste your time here

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The only thing that can help this company is if it is sold and the company that buys them cares about there employees other then that they don"t care about what I or anyone else thinks.

I have been working at AlliedBarton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They sincerely try to provide good value to their clients and they take client concerns seriously. They don't play games with their Security Officers. They are strict but fair. With the high turnover typical of the industry, there are lots of opportunities for advancement through the supervisory ranks.

    Cons

Security Officers have pitiful benefits and mostly low wages. Typical of the industry. They don't have any kind of Leadership program to find executive capable people within the ranks. Once you've reached salaried status you're a "made man/woman". Like every big company, they are top heavy so the line employees take it in the neck. Bottom line is all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Since sites and Officer performance is only as good as the leadership, you need to do a much better job of hiring/promoting Account Managers and Operations Managers. Higher than that its mostly corporate flacks, so no hope there.
