Pros – The people! The employees at Allstate are caring, fun, and easy to get along with. You'll make great friends while working here. Work/life balance is strongly encouraged and supported. Onsite daycare and fitness center (at the home office) are very convenient and a lot of paid time off is given - even in the first year of employment (3 weeks in first year, 4 weeks between 2nd and 5th year). Also, flexible work hours and telecommuting policies also contribute to balance of work and life.
Cons – There are a few bad apples that micro-manage. Also, there doesn't seem to be much knowledge-sharing between departments. This makes working across departments difficult.
Advice to Senior Management – Build trust among your peers and hold each other accountable for building trust among your teams.
