Frustrating is the best word to describ when dealing with Allstate corp and the way they treat their independent agents

Pros

Well known company with lots of insurance products to offer.

Cons

No respect to their independent agents, and frustrating when trying to work with the agent customer service line.

Advice to Management

Respect the independent agents more. They are your gateway to the customer base who has developed a long time relationship with your company. Also you need to improve the customer service call centers in regards to hold time and can you bring back our customer service reps that actually worked in San Diego , Calif ? REally would love to deal with CLEAR english speaking reps rather then dealing with the accents from Ireland, Phillapines and India.

    Pros

The people, the products, the name, Allstate - since 1931.

    Cons

Let people use their critical thinking skills sometimes, rather than rely on rules and computers all the time. (I'm talking about underwriting here) It would be nice to be credited with having a brain and decision making skills. Also, systems are outdated and need upgrading - that would be nice.

    Advice to Management

The little people have good suggestions too...please listen.

Be very careful about agent recruiting claims of big success and money to be made

    Pros

"Own" your own business (its really a franchise since they tell you what to do and how to do it). You can make money of you work many hours and sell lots of policies. If not, you are toast.

    Cons

"Own" your own business (its really a franchise since they tell you what to do and how to do it). Management doesn't really care about you unless you are a big producer (agents). Company does what is good for the big corporation, not the agents or customers. They like big agents who keep getting bigger - be careful - it takes a lot of money to buy and grow an agency. Do not go with this company if you do not already have insurance experience.

    Advice to Management

Tell the truth when recruiting new agents. Listen to your agent workforce rather than big money consultants to help guide to company.
