I have been working at Allstate full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Up to date systems, transparent pricing and excellent work environment.

    Cons

Limited commercial and Farm market. Also successful agents will have to be managers of a small business not sales people. Insurance Companies who use a captive agent distribution system are moving to fewer agencies with higher policy counts. In order to succeed agents have to manage their sales and service staff and do less selling themselves. This is a trend that has been underway for the last 10 years.
