I have been working at Allstate full-time (more than an year)

Pros

-competitive compensation ( depends on the agent)
-good agency atmosphere
- some room to move up
-brand recognition
-innovative new products and quoting system

Cons

-some cold calling
-angry customers sometimes / customer service
-can be difficult at times to find clients

Advice to ManagementAdvice

-find ways to more competitive with a larger customer profile type, it can be hard at times finding clients that have good rates with allstate.

    Pros

    Continual training, friendly environment, beautiful building, catered lunches for training, Support from all levels of management at corporate.

    Cons

    Individual agencies vary. Some have it together, others don't. Hope you get with the right one.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep Agents active. Don't let them be absent or disconnected. Their leadership is needed. Keep them at the top of their game, don't let them slip.

    I worked at Allstate full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great pay, lots of vacation. Work/life balance, relaxed atmosphere. Loved the people I worked with.

    Cons

    Outsourcing became a problem. Allstate really went off track when they started outsourcing & laying off their people that had experience. It's sad when greed takes over and it happens in many companies these days. They do not put their customers first because how many people complain about calling c/s & getting someone they do not understand on the other line. Allstate lost their focus & will pay for it because they are losing customers big time. Management had to met their budget in order to get their big bonuses while all the people they laid off did all the meaningful work. Agents are not happy with how corporate is handling alot of thing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    know the value of your employees. You have someone sitting behind a big, expensive desk making these decisions to lay off people & have no idea the impact it will have.
