Pros

It has advanced FPGA design technology; many professional and intelligent people there. You can a lot of stuff in terms of integrated circuit design.

Cons

Poor management; the focus is reducing cost/making money instead of making its products better and more competitive.

Advice to Management

No need to just focus on saving money and making the stock price go up. If you work out high-quality chips and tools, the revenue will become better accordingly.

    Pros

Great environment and benefits. Salaries are good, benefits are great, the facilities are superb, you won't find better. Good technology usage. Career opportunities if you play the games

    Cons

Very beauracratic at all levels, office politics are very much in play, again at all levels. The company is very established in its limited products and processes so they tend to focus more than other companies on the politics and doing things for the sake of being seen.
Very structured organization with little vertical growth but plenty of lateral opportunities.

  2. Sometimes chaotic, but lots of opportunities to do interesting work

    Pros

    - engineers have vertical assignments. Responsible for all aspects of design from architecture, RTL entry, verification, schematics, layout, etc.
    - lots of opportunities to do new things within your group
    - technical leadership opportunities

    Cons

    - too much planning on what to do vs. actually doing what needs to be done (make sense?)
    - more competition than collaboration between groups and cross-functional teams
    - too often the solution to a solve a technical problem is to call long meetings

    Advice to Management

Help engineers understand that they need to be responsible for their work
