A humorless environment but the employees mean well.

I worked at Alzheimer's Association

Pros

The Alzheimer's Association does really great work in the community and everyone employed at the Regional Offices really seem to have incredible knowledge and dedication.

Cons

The office is grey and white and small. Dealing with Alzheimer's disease is fairly depressing work and the fact that it is so highly frowned upon to be able to have any sort of cheer in the office or laugh with your co-workers for a few moments to blow off much-needed steam is really unfortunate and it makes this a pretty dismal palce to have to go each day.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Add some color. Get some more space so employees aren't surrounded by boxes. Lighten up a bit.

I have been working at Alzheimer's Association full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Calm working environment, mostly easy going co-workers, benefits are great (20+ PTO, PPO insurance, holidays off, 401K, etc..)

    Cons

Ridiculous policies from management, passive aggressive attitudes, pay scale not standardized, growth among company is minimal

I have been working at Alzheimer's Association full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

if you want to get your feet wet in the world of development this is a great place to learn the trade. You will get more than enough chances to pitch to anyone who has given in the past; we have a great data base.

    Cons

If you really truly want to help out famlies you will quickly learn this is not the place for you. It seems the number one goal is to raise money and if somewhere along the way we give some good advise it was pure luck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

this is not the heart assocation folks; when did we stop caring about those who couldn't afford to donate?

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
