Pros

Pay is good for area

Cons

Extremely high turnover
Horrible benefit plan (check the fine print too).
History of not meeting agreement terms based on hiring contract .
No loyalty or respect to employees.
Promotion of friends rather than well-deserved individuals; hard-working individuals typically don't succeed due to the exposure they bring to the table.
Every man for himself company.

Advice to Management

- "Want" to improve and see that there are issues. There seems to be no one caring.
- Perform Exit Interviews to see WHY people are continuously leaving and react to those reasons.

Not enough time in a day to complete all office staff paperwork
No Training/Orientation an 800+ page Office of Operations Manual to read/train yourself
    Mgmt don't appreciate/support staff
    Unrealistic duties to perform daily
Changes occur often and majority of the time w/o notification.
Long hours and very little appreciation or feedback
No one takes responsibility for their wrong or indifferent actions
Everyone wants to be rewarded w/o hard work.
All wrong doing get blamed on BOS
    HIGH LEVEL OF STRESS

    Advice to Management

Training / Orientation is definitely needed.

Unsure if Bill Borne is aware of all that's taking place within the company; but with a turnover rate such as Amedisys has he has to have some idea something isn't right.

When you start focusing on the patient's care and your employees, instead of numbers, numbers, numbers everything else will fall in place. Greed is a toxin for failure.

    Pros

Amedisys has a leading training development program. Amedisys is a nationwide company that allows the ability to be able to move up within the company.

    Cons

They are a for profit home health and hospice agency that has more marketing dollars to use then nonprofit home health and hospice agency which creates a disadvantage for local agencies that have been in business for years.

    Advice to Management

Offer training development programs for clinical staff from nursing to home health aides that is as exciting and rewarding as the marketing training development programs.
