When someone is struggling and comes to you, attempt to solve the problems. Do not avoid the situations as long as the work is getting completed.

    I worked at Amedisys full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Coworkers, patients, computerized documentation, direct deposit

    Cons

    Disorganized leadership, unrealistic expectations of staff, insufficient staff for number of patients, paychecks (even for salaried employees) never correct

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Growth will come but not if stability in local offices doesn't take place..get staff in place, stop using agency to fill gaps, be reasonable with expectations of current staff/patient ratio, LOOK at offices that have high turn over - should be a red flag about local leadership

    I have been working at Amedisys full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexible schedule, good benefits (that are decreasing constantly), usually promote from within

    Cons

    RNs are favored over other staff due to they are allowed to do more for the company, paid per visit and sometimes you have enough visits to make your weekly quota and sometimes you don't. Per visit rate is below comparable for other companies in the same area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Give more attention to field staff. Office staff and other support staff get better bonuses, but less hourly pay. Look at care centers and the local challenges faced to assist with more directed support.
