Pros

National Volunteerism. Meet people, do good.

Cons

Do not come here looking to make money. It's a domestic PeaceCorps, not a fortune500.

    Pros

You get a lot of training that will prepare you for another non-profit or government job.

You also get to have a positive impact in the community you are placed.

    Cons

AmeriCorps is not easy. You live under the poverty line and really learn to empathize with everyone else who is in the same situation as you, but not by choice.
