I have been working at American Airlines full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Somewhat flexible schedule. Decent medical.

Cons

No movement in the ranks. Haven't hired for 10 years. Product has gone way down.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look outside of the box and be visionaries in a very competitive industry.

I have been working at American Airlines part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, decent travel benefits if you work there over 5 years.

    Cons

Odd shift hours, low pay, decreasing benefits due to AMR bankruptcy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Less pay for corporate big wigs and better pay and benefits for line employees.

I worked at American Airlines full-time

    Pros

Flight benefits, hilarious co-workers, plenty of aviation knowledge to gain even as a front-line operations employee. Somewhat flexible schedules and able to pick up overtime/extra hours.

    Cons

Low pay, low morale, no union protection for those who need it most, invisible, absentee supervisors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your people, who will then take care of your equipment and will run your company much better!
