I worked at American Airlines full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Some great front line employees.

    Cons

Most local management little or no education. No ethics whatsoever. Training is a joke. You cannot fail a class. They create a terrible work environment to prevent longevity. No recognition for loyalty. Not a good place to work if you have a family. It can really put stress on your family life. If you love airplanes/aviation DO NOT work here. They will destroy your passion. Low starting pay & 12 year topmost for mechanics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Kill yourselves. You're all worthless human beings.

I have been working at American Airlines full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Flight benefits if you can find a flight that isn't oversold, maybe somewhere in Kentucky on a Tuesday in September

    Cons

Monotonous, unchallenging, repetitive beyond belief, callers in queue 24/7, never without a call, low pay, no recognition, no appreciation, oversold flights, low pay, callers ask the most brain dead questions and wait on hold an hour to do so, your calls are monitored and timed as are your bathroom breaks, very strict attendance policy, most unrewarding job, would rather do almost anything else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put on a headset and feel the pain of working in a call center 8 hours a day, give your res agents opportunities to move up in a career path and get them off the phones instead of grinding them to death in a call center.

    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO
